Character Education
Character education is a unique part of Everlight’s company culture. Managers of all levels embody the spirit of service and practice servant leadership. They are expected to lead by inspiring team members and lead by example, so that employees can resonate and feel connected with the Company’s culture and philosophy.

Commending Good CharacterEmployees are featured and honored at monthly meetings at each plant/business unit for their acts of good character. In 2021, a total of 152 employees had been awarded for good character. |
Training and SharingThe concept of “Character over Accomplishment” is promoted through sharing at monthly meetings and coverage in quarterly publications. The Company provides free copies of the monthly character-themed journals it publishes for all employees. Every month, each division holds a 30-minute discussion session about the featured monthly journal to help employees put key concepts into practice. |
Content and PublicationsActs of good character are featured in the Company’s quarterly publications, along with which free affirmation cards are given out for employees to carry around for reference. Mentorship Program for New Hires
Besides providing new hire orientation in accordance with Everlight Chemical’s Educational Training Implementation Measures, we also implement a mentorship program that matches senior colleagues with junior employees. Senior-level employees would share technical know-how and expertise with junior employees through in-person interactions as well as video or audio resources, helping junior employees to learn the skills needed in their new roles. Supervisors also actively check in with newly-on boarded employees to help them fit in smoothly and feel engaged at work.
Care and Support for Employees
With a commitment to supporting employees’ well-being and protecting their rights and interests, Everlight Chemical has established the Staff Welfare Committee to help coordinate matters and measures regarding employee welfare. As outlined in the disclosures below, our support for employees also extends to their families:

Policy & Commitment
Safety, quality and efficiency are our top three priorities. We base relevant management guidelines on the ISO 45001 framework on occupational safety and health management and incorporate industry best practices to improve safety of the workplace, equipment and operating procedures. We also train our employees to work safely and ensure the safety and health of workers and stakeholders alike.


Management Approach
- Everlight’s headquarters, all four plants in Taiwan,Plant I-III of Trend Tone Imaging, Inc. as well as Everlight (Suzhou) Advanced Chemicals Ltd. have all obtained the ISO 45001: 2018 Occupational Safety and Health Management System certification. All certifications remain valid as all annual audits by DNV.GL have been completed by August 13, 2021.
- The Everlight Chemical Group did not incur any fines for regulatory violations related to occupational safety and health.
Resources Invested
In 2021, Everlight began implementing process safety management (PSM) to reduce hazards caused by high-risk processes and improve process safety.

Procedures for Hazard Identification and Risk & Opportunity Assessment
Our hazard identification process includes the consideration of work arrangements, social factors, organizational structure and culture, routine and non-routine activities, past incidents, potential emergencies, personnel, project changes, among other factors. Incident Review and Corrective Actions on Nonconformities
Everlight has devised its Procedures for Non-conformance according to the ISO 45001 standard. 184 cases of non-conformance were filed in 2021 and 181 cases had been resolved, representing a 98% case processing rate.
Promotion of Health Services and Healthy Activities to Reduce Health Risks
To improve overall occupational safety and health of employees, Everlight has held various health-promoting activities at its headquarters, all four Everlight plants in Taiwan and Plant I-III of Trend Tone Imaging, Inc. Related measures include providing health protection plans, holding firm-wide workout events for weight loss and muscle gain, installation of workout equipment, holding sports contests, holding seminars on health-related topics, holding health checkup information sessions (at the headquarters and all plants of Everlight and Trend Tone Imaging), promotion of healthy diets, providing health management and care plans for employees, etc.

Supporting Local Communities


Community Support
Climate change has worsened extreme weather events around the world, leading to record-breaking typhoons and rainfall during flood seasons. Our Plant II in Taiwan has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the nearby Shulin Village to help improve the disaster prevention capabilities of the community.
We also received the Flood Prevention Award by the Taoyuan City Government.
Impacted by the global Covid-19 pandemic, confirmed cases continued to rise in Taiwan. In April 2020, we donated electrolyzed oxidizing water (EOW) sterilizers to offices of local communities (Shulin Village and Datan Village) as an effort to fight against the pandemic with local residents.

The Little Warriors in Taiwan Program
Everlight sponsors Rainbow Family Life Education Association in hosting events of the Little Warriors in Taiwan Program, which supports children to learn about how to tackle challenges, apply positive thinking, cherish life and pursue their dreams.
Character Education Camp
Everlight’s Character Education Camp aims to instill the concept of good character in children’s mind through fun and creative lessons.
We also sponsor the Morning Life Education Program in Shulin and Caota Elementary School in Guanyin District in Taoyuan. Through story-telling, volunteers teach students the concept of character and how to build good character traits.


Book Donation Program Supporting Rural Communities
The company has long been a sponsor of the Rainbow Kids Organization and has helped it to launch programs to support the education of children in remote areas. We also sponsored volunteer groups to send resources needed in remote schools. We received applications from 29 organizations and have donated 232 picture books.



Taking Actions to Realize Our Mission: Chemistry, Better Life
Everlight Chemical actively contributes to social welfare and promotes character education. Since 2014, we have supported reading programs for children launched by Global Views Educational Foundation for eight years. We donated the Global Kids Junior Monthly and Global Kids Monthly magazines to 21 elementary schools near our facilities in Guanyin and Fuhsing. James Chen, Chairman at Everlight Chemical, hopes that reading can inspire the children to learn how to treat people with respect and better prepare for a changing society in the future. Reading can help children become more resilient for future challenges and live a wonderful and righteous life.

In support of ZDHC’s Roadmap to Zero, the Company continues to offer chemical solutions that conform with the ZDHC MRSL guidance on chemicals and sustainability and devote efforts to protect consumers, workers and the environment in the textile, apparel and footwear industries. We are committed to promoting sustainable chemical management practices across the supply chain to advance towards zero discharge of hazardous chemicals.
The TCIA Circular Economy Declaration
Committed to the goals of “Zero Pollution, Zero Emissions and Zero Accidents” set in Taiwan Chemical Industry Association’s (TCIA) Circular Economy Declaration, Everlight Chemical contributes to TCIA’s efforts to consolidate technologies and resources of TCIA members to promote sustainable development of the industry and help the industry respond to opportunities presented by the global trend of circular economy.
